About

Born, raised and still living part of the year in Vienna, I was lucky enough to spend all my winter vacations as a scholar in the mountainrange called ‘Schladminger Tauern’ in Styria/Austria. My family owns a holiday hut there, and we kids would race the local bottom lift from dusk till dawn.

At the age of 14 I changed from skiing to snowboarding and fell in love with that feeling of flowing free, despite blue knees, a bruised butt and multible heavy crashes during my first attempts.

Aged 16 local friends took me along to snowboard down the South Wall of Dachstein, which is the most eastern Glacier of the Alps, through the Schwadrinn route. That run included a mandatory drop at that time. I was scared to death snowboarding in No Fall Zones, didn’t own the right equipment, but after the first round wanted to go up again immediatly.

I was hooked by the greatness of mountain scapes up high, the exposure to the elements and the immersion during powder turns. In those moments, when I’m in a big line or cruising a turn, I feel free and completely present in the moment.

Over the years I aquired a profound knowledge about mountain safety, avalanche risks and alpinism through a diverse range of courses with different mountain guides, saac camps, ISTA and courses at university.

It always was a big part of my efforts during winter to go into competing on the FreerideWorldTour , where I enjoyed travelling to remote places with a tightly knit community of international riders sharing the same passion.

At the same time I always produced movies and edits trying to inspire people to explore the great outdoors during winter, but also sharing and explaining my views of the world. Sometimes it is more to find answers for myself, than to please any audience. Recently I’m working on movie projects grasping the essence of personalities from different generations in the outdoors.
