The photographer of the story was a professional Freerider for a couple of years…one of his old action shots made it on the cover
In February 2015 we made a trip to Romania, now the Story got published in an Austrian mountain sports magazine called “Land der Berge”, available in all Austrian tobacco and newspaper shops.

I’m really happy that also one shot of a (rather tiny) powder turn in slightly wind pressed snow was the editors choice.
I really enjoyed our time in romania, it’s a beautiful country with a rich culture and pristine wilderness. And, what really makes it a destination: it’s wild.
It’s also really mind opening to see how other people under totally different circumstances live their life. Life in Romania in general is not as easy for some people, there is real poverty, slum-like homes, horse carriages on the federal highway and pot holes in smaller roads.
At the same time there is an incredible good, optimistic spirit. This country is developing fast and it’s part of the EU, traveling there is really easy.
The mountains are far less influenced by tourism and built infrastructure than the alps, an easy adventure can get dangerous pretty fast. One rides with much more caution and is more focused.
